David T. Morgan was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina on January 5, 1937. After attending the Fayetteville public schools he graduated from Baylor University (BA,1959), and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (MA, 1964 and Ph.D., 1968). As a career historian he spent 33 years in the college classroom at Patrick Henry College, Texas A&M University, and the University of Montevallo and was a visiting professor at Rhode Island College, Temple University Japan, and Beloit College.
