Karin Anckarsvärd

Swedish author of 14 children's boks, all of which have been tranlated into English. Born Karin Inez Maria Olson on August 10, 1915, in Stockholm, Sweden, she was the daughter of a medical doctor, and educated largely in Sweden, except for a brief turn at Oxford University from 1934 to 1935. On her return from Oxford, she took a secretarial position, which she held until her marriage in 1940, at age 24, to Carl Anckarsvard.
