Mari Ruef Hofer

July 1848 – Dec 1929

One of eight children born in Littleport, IA, to Marianna Ruef and Andreas Franz Hofer. Educated at Mt Carrol Seminary and University of Chicago. Taught music at public schools in Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota. Also taught at various universities, including U Cal Berkeley. Author and lecturer.
