COLONEL STROME GALLOWAY, ED, CD Andrew Strome Ayers Galloway was born in Humboldt, Saskatchewan on November 29, 1915. He was a career soldier, author, letter-writer, noted monarchist and heraldry expert. At 16 years of age he joined the Elgin Regiment (Militia) in St. Thomas, Ontario as a boy soldier and was commissioned two years later. During World War II he served with the Royal Canadian Regiment in the UK, Sicily, Italy and the Netherlands and with the 2nd London Irish Rifles (British Army) in the North African campaign.
