Sacking the Quarterback
Mike has been a football fan his whole life, and a fan of Billy Pavelka, neighbor and schoolmate, for almost as long. Billy, two years older than Mike, was best friends with John until John came out to him. At a sports bar, a drunk, drugged Billy humiliates John in front of his entourage and Mike decides that this loud-mouthed, arrogant prick needs to be taken down a few notches.
He concocts as scheme to photograph Billy doing drugs, and to use those photos to blackmail him into becoming Mike's sex toy. The reasoning: He needs to understand how it feels to be humiliated over sex. When he learns that Billy is also a gambler, he decides to raise the stakes. He wins a good deal of money from Billy and tells him that he'll take it out in trade. Billy is shocked and abusive. But fear of exposure provokes him to go along with Mike's plan.
But something shifts between them as Billy fulfills his part of the bargain. He comes to realize that sex with another man isn't horrible or disgusting. It's new and exciting. And Mike learns that Billy is still a decent guy under all the bluster, a guy who still loves John as a friend. Will Mike's plan resolve Billy's resistance to gay sex and bring Billy and John together, this time as something more than friends?
