About
A short story. A new age Indian couple, very much in love, decide to get married. And how they go about it, their fears, their excitement, their chemistry, their journey. The need or relevance to seek the sanctity of society. How important is it to seek acceptance of family for what you choose to be for who you are. Any couple in India who has hunted for a rented apartment knows how the landlord's eye rolls up when they come to know that you are not married and are going to stay under one roof as a couple still. I mean still? They see it as a moral crime. How important we should give others when it comes to things so personal as marriage. For me, it is just a matter of religious affiliation, just a necessity to observe a ritual to get the blessings of God, which is purely optional and upto the individual. However, legal or registered marriage makes sense for a sense of security for both the parties that you are in a relationship but then it should not be made an obligation or a psychological compulsion. You should never marry for reasons other than intense pure love.
It's a riveting tale with twists that thrill you throughout the span of the short story. The tête-à-tête, the romance and the edge of the seat drama keep your interest till the end. The story does not preach anything as the definition of right and wrong is different for everyone. It changes with society, culture, situation and a whole lot of other factors.
