The work offers a key to understanding the causes of the invasion as well as the martyrdom of the 9 Christian Otranto residents. The present volume contains the first modern and annotated edition of the Historia, preceded by an analysis of the characteristics of the text and the circumstances of the Naples edition relative to its moment in history between the Renaissance and Baroque periods.
