About
This is an exploratory, qualitative examination of women's experiences being blonde. From interviews with five women, I construct stories about their hair. I present each woman as unique with multiple, intersecting identities, arguing that there is no universal blonde experience. At the same time, I argue that these identities intersect to give the women a shared social location. Their place above minority women but also below men in the social matrix of power relations shapes their experiences. This research offers a space for the women to share their experiences in their own words and invites the reader into a dialogue on blondeness.
