It doesn't take long for her to realize that a cycle of revenge runs through this society. Be it the Taliban lashing back at the American military, attacks on Afghan girls striving for an education, or resistance to Western aid workers violence rules the day. A burgeoning romance, with a former soldier, thrusts Maggie directly into this crossfire.
