The native reserves of Natal

This study of the Natal Reserves is published as a part of the Natal Regional Survey undertaken by the University of Natal. It supplements the valuable ninth report of the Social and Economic Planning Council, with which it is in general agreement, but to which it adds much more detail on the Reserves of Natal and Zululand, together with the results of other research undertaken since the Planning Council reported in 1946. The report of the Commission on the Socio-economic Conditions of the Reserves is not at the time of writing available to the public. A comparison between the general conclusions independently reached by the Commission and ourselves should be of considerable interest.
