This volume recounts the history Russia's Romanov family. The Romanov family ruled as a monarchy over Russia from 1613 until the 1917 overthrow of the monarchy during the so-called February Revolution. At the height of their rule, the Romanov family reigned over one-sixth of the earth's surface and held claim to a vastly disproportionate share of its wealth. The Romanovs left behind a bloody and autocratic record, forged by a legacy of grandeur, horror, force and intrigue.
