The war has been going for years, changing at times to the conscious eye between hot and cold. Soon we intend to provoke lava flow; the publication of this collection of poems will be that provocation."

There must be reconciliation, healing, release; or else mutual destruction. Thus we fight, to end the horrible things that will happen if we do not; we fight to know each other, to heal each other, to release each other to love. May this glimpse into my war inspire yours."
