In his introduction, Brandon Graham of Vancouver, BC writes, "Comic books: this soundless art form that goes well with music. With how attached to memory music is, it's like smell. But people put so much of themselves into the music they like. It's hard to think of a more difficult thing to draw in paper panels than how exciting, sad, beautiful or cool something sounds to one person. One thing I think a lot about is how one person's idea of cool might not be anothers. Show the cool of music, you can't just draw some music notes and expect the reader to be with you all the way. It's a hard show don't tell trick. You have to build a cool. Take cool part and put it back together. Boil it down into another medium while maintaining its temperature. Cool? Cool . . ."
