The Vishnu Pur?na. A system of Hindu mythology and tradition. Translated from the original sanskrit, and illustrated by notes derived chiefly from other puranas, by the late H. H. Wilson, edited by Fitzedward Hall (1829-1901). Volume one of the five. To the chancellor, masters, and scholars of the university of Oxford, this work is respectfully inscribed by H. H. Wilson, in testimony of his veneration for the university, and in grateful acknowledgment of the distinction conferred upon him by his admission as a member, and his election to the boden professorship of the sanskrit language.
