Dropping out of College at 19, he began his quest, searching for the good life, unfortunately, in all the wrong places. He spent his young adult life peddling drugs and indulging in gangs and violence that ultimately landed him in Prison serving a lengthy 25- year sentence for three counts of armed robbery. In Prison, J.L. saw firsthand the destruction and self-hatred of so many young black men who were misguided and full of rage and anger just as he once was.
