TOUGH - LOVING MY HEROIN ADDICT: A Lesson From The Parable of The Prodigal Son (First in a trilogy of e-books: Triumph of Prevailing Prayer)
by Jeannie Delahunt
His legs swelled severely, and he complained of intense pain. He could not sleep - and so, troubled, neither could I. I expected him to finally crash into a sleep that he would not awaken from. 'Please, go to the emergency room!'
He refused. Not only did he refuse, but he became verbally abusive as well! Looking back, I probably should have called the Sheriff. I just did not think of it at the time. Though this writing's focus is primarily for heroin addiction, it may be helpful for other addictions. I do hope this little e-book will help you make your monumental decision, if you are desperately searching for just one more confirmation. That added confirmation was what I was searching for.I wanted to be certain that I was making the best choice.
You know in your gut what you need to do - I did, but it was grueling accepting it. I needed (as mentioned) just one more validation, and so, maybe God in His wisdom saw us, you and me, when Jesus shared this glorious story of redemption. However, the redemption of the prodigal son was the result of a journey,an expedition of sorts - from riches to rags to redemption. I found what I needed in his journey to make my decision. I hope you will be able to as well!
