Excerpt: Alex Maleev is a Bulgarian comic book artist and sometimes writer who has worked on Aliens vs. Predator and cross-over projects for Dark Horse Comics. Maleev's work on the lines began as illustrator on the ambitious Aliens vs. Predator: Eternal miniseries. He also wrote and illustrated the short story Aliens vs. Predator: Old Secrets for the AVP Annual in 1999 (which he set in his native Bulgaria). He was then chosen as the artist for the landmark Superman vs. Predator cross-over series. Maleev came to prominence in the American comics scene in the 2000s with work at comics powerhouse Marvel Comics as regular artist on the company's headlining series Daredevil. There he began a collaboration with wonderkind indie-turned-mainstream Marvel comics writer Brian Michael Bendis which lasted for years on the title and continues to this day after both have left it.
