When George Orwell’s Science Fiction 1984 was published in 1949 it looked ahead thirty five years. When Karen and her sister drove up to Northern Minnesota to attend their cousin’s wedding, a thief from their car gave them a look ahead of a hundred thousand years. They came face to face with genetically designed humans. “They look just like humans” could have been said by either Karen, her sister or the Aliens. They’re from the planet Pallion. To them we, the people of earth, are primates.
And that was the reason they came here. Their birthing laboratory produced a primate. He was like any of the others in the Maturing Channels. But he had odd habits and there was this strange growth at the base of his torso. A careful examination sent chills up the doctor’s back. This nine year old was a primate. It was an awful shock. It was also and awful embarrassment. So the authorities called in did what was right and humane: They arranged for him to be sent to live with his own kind.
Within hours, before the scandal could get out, the boy was on his way to earth. There was a crew of four: a tutor, an Intelligence Officer, a scout and a Commander. The mission was to make sure the boy was safely accepted by the primates. But it hurried and poorly planned. They estimated us to still be in the nineteenth century, off by two centuries, and that put their plans in disarray.
The UFO was spotted. Helicopters with heat sensors, the National Guard, television and newspaper reporters along with people from the nearby town closed in on them. If the aliens were apprehended, the two sisters would be with them.
However, Karen wasn’t about to have her face slapped on the cover of those grocery store tabloids, and she decided to help them escape. It was morning and they would miss the wedding, but they could still make it to the reception that night.
