Linguistico-cultural diversity and peaceful coexistence in Africa

This volume analyses from various perspectives peaceful coexistence in relation to linguistic and cultural diversity. The volume comprises fifteen papers which are grouped into four parts, viz: peaceful coexistence and multiculturalism, peaceful coexistence, conceptualisations, perceptions and linguistic creativity, peaceful coexistence and language planning as well as management, peaceful coexistence and onomastics. To be more precise, the issues discussed in Part One have to do with, multilingualism and multiculturalism, language practices in workplaces, language and peace. In Part Two, the contributions dwell on metaphoric conceptualisations, linguistic creativity and people's perceptions of languages. In Part Three are comprised papers which handle language choice, use, policy and planning in various domains. In the last part of the volume are found papers which discuss the pragmatics of address names and onomastics in literary works. The data analysed in the papers are drawn from various sources and were collected via questionnaires, participant observation, interviews, etc.
