경술국치 이후 달라진 행정체제를 반영하고 영조 때 편찬된 읍지와 『동경잡기東京雜記』를 대본으로 경주 유림들이 편찬한 읍지이다. 권1-2는 진한辰韓과 신라기新羅紀이며, 읍명ㆍ속현屬縣ㆍ지계地界ㆍ방면연혁坊面沿革 등을 소개하고 있다. 권4-6은 열전列傳, 권8은 잡기보유雜記補遺와 제영을 기록하고 있다. 권1 앞부분에 인용참고제서引用參考諸書를 싣고 있다.
