Cadernos de viagens
by Lorelai Brilhante Kury
About
Organized by historian Lorelai Kury, the work contains the texts of 14 specialists who have been dedicated to the study of expedition travelers and Brazilian scientific culture for many years and who looked at the travel journals of 36 of them. There are more than 200 color reproductions collected in Brazil, in places such as the National Library and National Museum in Rio de Janeiro, and the Goeldi Museum in Pará. From abroad, institutions such as the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and the Natural History Museum in London, the Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle and the Bibliothèque Nationale of Paris, the Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid, the Smithsonian Institute of Washington, among many others, have also provided images of their historic holdings.
