Walking in a Dead Girl's Shoes

Jodee originally wrote Walking in a Dead Girl’s Shoes as her Senior Thesis—the final step before attaining her BA in Creative Writing from EckerdCollege. This collection of poetry represents a variety of stylistic choices. Her Thesis Committee commented that some of the poems were reminiscent of Sylvia Plath and Jack Kerouac. Like most authors, a good deal of the poetry was based on actual events. Therefore, the collection has a unique and original flare. Aside from writing poetry, short stories, personal essays, and one-act plays, Ms. Buckley has been a lyricist, guitarist, singer/songwriter and actress since age 12, and has written, and recorded numerous songs—most of which fall into the Alternative Rock genre. Raised in suburban Detroit, she moved to Boston to attend EmersonCollege in 1981 where she studied theatre arts. She is also the published author of a fairy tale for young adults entitled Bjorn’s Magical Marching Band and a short story which appeared in a compilation called The Final Goodbye to Poison Paul. You can expect many other genres to be covered by this eclectic author who claims, “My thing is not to have a thing.” That way, she can chose to write whatever captures her fancy at any given time. Her primary mission as a writer is to help her readers to gain insight into their own plights as well as to learn how to walk in another’s’ shoes. This collection of poetry focuses largely on this topic.
