First edition. 9 1/8" x 6 1/8" in color pictorial wrappers. 64pp. plus
color illustrated inside front and back covers. Illustrations. Foreword.
Map. The 1909 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition in Seattle, Washington,
prompted many west coast chambers of commerce, commercial clubs,
immigration boards, railroads, and land developers to produce colorful
booklets to distribute to potential Exposition goers coming from all
over the United States and abroad. In this booklet natural resources,
climate, scenery, recreational opportunities, land availability,
economic statistics, civic improvements, transportation systems,
educational and religious institutions, governmental structures, and
productive farms and ranches were primary topics covered. Illustrations
from photos include river scenes, scenery, farm scenes, livestock,
logging scenes, orchards, dairy, important buildings, factories,
businesses, homes, etc. Several pictures are in color. Map of Oregon at
centerfold - has come loose from the stapled binding. Light soiling to front wrapper as well as rubbing to spine.
Covers separating from staples in spine. Very good plus.
