Voyage au coeur de la cuisine de rue

by Michel Bouisson, Fiona Meadows, Mini maousse (5th 2013)

About
Published on the occasion of an exhibition at the Cite de l' Architecture and Heritage in Paris, Oct. 23-Dec. 2, 2013 celebrating the 5th Mini Maousse competition, the theme of which is ‘My canteen in town." The biennial microarchitecture competition brought together researchers in human and social sciences, urbanism, and professionals working in street design. The exhibition was composed mainly of photographs portraying the diversity of food vending and street eating on the five continents, in the form of small shops, vehicles or stands of all kinds – industrially made, customized models, DIY inventions – whose function is to transport foods ready to be prepared and served up in the street. Particular attention is given to specific environments that enable the food sold to be eaten sitting down, whether the seating in question be an existing situation or a recent ad hoc creation.
