Corinth, the Centenary, 1896-1996

These twenty-six papers are taken from a symposium held in Athens in 1996 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the American School of Classical Studies excavations at Corinth. The contributors explore current research on Ancient Corinth including its geology, architecture, pottery from the 8th century BC to the Frankish period, bronze objects, figurines, sanctuaries, trade, coinage, Roman portraiture and baths. Fully illustrated throughout, the papers present new material from the excavations and new ideas over their interpretation. This volume also includes a full general bibliography of articles and volumes concerning material excavated at Corinth.
