Quarantaine uitzicht

When the Netherlands closed down on March 15, 2020 due to the coronavirus, visual artist Noortje Haegens grabbed her camera. While we were locked up in our houses, the days passed. Therefore, every day during the quarantine period, she decided to photograph the sunset from the window in her stairwell. What started with one photo has become a series of 81 photos. The photo series shows us the quarantine from Noortje's perspective from the start on 15 March to 1 June 2020, the day on which the measures were relaxed. Noortje takes us to her frame and leaves us in a restless and special time to the reassuring sky look. The air is playful in its mobility, relentlessly realistic and spatially elusive. The presence of the wall and the window reminds us that we are locked up. At the same time, the beautiful sunsets offer us comfort and a perspective on the future. The photos of Noortje Haegens promise us that there is one later. Toen Nederland op 15 maart 2020 vanwege het coronavirus op slot ging, heeft beeldend kunstenaar Noortje Haegens haar camera gepakt. Terwijl wij opgesloten zaten in onze huizen, verstreken de dagen. Daarom besloot ze elke dag gedurende de quarantaineperiode de zonsondergang vanuit het raam in haar trappenhuis te fotograferen. Wat begon met één foto, is een reeks van 81 foto's geworden. De fotoserie toont ons de quarantaine vanuit het perspectief van Noortje van de start op 15 maart tot 1 juni 2020, de dag waarop de maatregelen versoepeld werden. Noortje neemt ons mee naar haar raam en laat ons in een onrustige en bijzondere tijd naar de geruststellende hemel kijken. De luchten zijn speels in haar bewegelijkheid, meedogenloos realistisch en ruimtelijk ongrijpbaar. Door de aanwezigheid van de muur en het raam worden we eraan herinnerd dat we opgesloten zijn.
