The army is no place for a woman of gentle birth, of that Charlotte Lacoste is aware. But if she is to find her fiancé she must cross the Alps with Napoleon's army. And she knows only one man who can protect her on the journey: Captain Marc Forestier, notorious for his temper and his womanizing.
