The Little Fish from the Sea is a story for all age groups. The setting is Cuba. The novel follows the life of a small girl found drifting in a life raft by a dissident Cuban writer who becomes her grandfather. The child has no memory of her past but her grandfather discovers she is a child prodigy pianist. The Castro government learns about the child and wants to exploit her talents. To protect her from exploitation the grandfather and the child sail to the America. En route to Miami her grandfather falls victim to a car accident. A widowed nurse and her son take charge of the girl. And through patience and love learn about her life in Cuba and about her musical talents. A recital planned by a Catholic church in Stuart leads to world renown and to an inquiry in Spain about the child's background. This leads to a happy ending...
