This edited two-volume book contains 280 papers offering valuable research into explosives, projectiles, and devices for military and defense applications. Information is given on the design, trajectories, tested performance, and modeling of large-scale projectiles such as missile warheads, bombs and artillery shells to smaller ones like mortar rockets, IEDs, and cartridges. The book offers original data on explosion dynamics, as well as emerging methods for personnel, vehicle, and infrastructure protection, including new types of body armor and penetration-resistant composites, fibers, and metal alloys. Advances are discussed regarding supercavitating vehicles, electromagnetic launchers, additive manufacturing of energetic materials, and jet penetration.
