Financial Regulatory Reform

Testimony regarding the international implications of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (DF). The DF establishes a host of new reforms that will have implications for U.S. companies that compete internationally and the U.S. investors who own those companies. This testimony outlines some of these implications, as well as the SEC¿s attempts to facilitate coordination and limit regulatory arbitrage, both domestically and internationally. In particular, Schapiro discusses the international implications of the DF for regulation of over-the-counter derivatives and foreign investor adviser registration.
