About
Peter Mitchell is a PI without a single case. He’s also flat broke and late with a payment to the wrong kind of people. Their motivational speakers are coming for a visit, and with nothing to give them the morning is off to a rough start.
He has two choices, none appealing: Let them break every bone in his body before taking a cement shoe trip to the bottom of the river, or, take an express ride on the bullet train to the other side.
Sometimes the choice is easy. This was one of those times.
The next thing Mitchell knows he’s sipping champagne and mixing with San Francisco’s elite. Things get even better when a woman catering to the rich and powerful brings Mitchell in to consult on security issues. And right after that he’s aboard a luxury yacht sailing to an exotic destination.
He’d made the right choice. Would have done it earlier if he’d known, and no, he hadn’t entered the twilight zone, slipped into an alternate universe or traveled back or forward in time, his life had simply changed.
But there’s a catch, there would have to be, right? Something to put things back into balance. After all he’s not exactly been blessed by good fortune. It doesn’t take long for him to discover that the last thing the business needs is to be concerned about security, and that his own is suddenly very much in jeopardy.
Something’s going on, there’s a hidden agenda and he doesn’t have a clue what it is. All he knows is that he’d better figure it out fast.
