Latham's Book Of Homes

Paperback book full of color and black and white illustrations of model homes and their blueprints. The covers are light blue, with a black taped spine. The back cover is completely loose from the book, and the front cover is loose. The black tape along the spine has rolled off and is folded up on the left edge of the front cover. The back cover is blank, but the front cover has a 5" x 7" color illustration of Design 12539-B (on p. 29) in the center; the title and lumber company information is printed in black on top and bottom. At the very top of the front cover, in very light pencil cursive, it says, "F.G. Cooper, Van Hoesen St., Cortland, NY" (F.G. Cooper was a famous cartoonist, however we are uncertain what the connection is between this writing and the book.) 112 pages. Size: 8.25" x 11.25"

**From about 1915 to 1930, C. L. Bowes of Hinsdale, Illinois was in business publishing catalogs of home plans. The plans were collected in catalogs and probably sold to lumber yards across the upper Midwest and as far east as New York. Lumber dealers then distributed the catalogs under their name to prospective home builders. Often, Bowes' plans are unattributed.
