The film Anno Schmidt was filmed in Italy in 1973 and shown briefly in Berlin and Hamburg in 1974. Shortly thereafter all known copies vanished; few knew whether it had ever really existed. Now it has been found; this volume documents its creation and rediscovery. Accompanying DVD contains the film itself, starring Rafael Alberti (as Arno Schmidt) and Anita Ekberg.
