This is a chronicle play, in the form of spoken narration with illustrative dialogue scenes, of the coming of Christianity to Sweden; the first Medieval attempts to translate the Bible into Swedish; the first appearance of a Swedish New Testament and Swedish Psalmbook (1525); the first appearance of a Swedish Old Testament and the Gustav Vasa Bible (1541); as well as later editions of the Bible in Swedish, issued during the reigns of Gustaf II Adolf (1618), Karl XII (1703), and Gustav V (1917).
