The Tiara of Thann

Varla knew that she was unusual. She could hear animals speak, and she could speak with them, further, she had the gray eyes common only in those who wielded power or were of the ancient blood. Of her blood line she knew nothing. She was happy and enjoyed her life of solitude in the high country around the village of Koontifney. But things change, and the world of Thann was being slowly conquered by a very evil queen, and events would draw her into them against her natural instincts and desires. Thann balanced on a knife edge and unknown to her she could push it either way, into light or darkness.
