About
When law enforcement authorities arrested Audrey Marie Hilley in Vermont in 1983, they thought she was someone else. They soon learned that the diminutive blond was an Alabama fugitive wanted on charges of poisoning her husband, and attempting to murder her only daughter. She had been missing three years. During that time, while police exhumed the bodies of her husband, mother and mother-in-law, Marie had fled to Florida. She remarried under an assumed name, moved with her new husband to Vermont, fabricated her own death in Texas, then returned to her husband in New Hampshire masquerading as his dead wife's twin sister. The two lived together until Marie's capture in Vermont.
