Finders Keepers

Teaching high school has its pluses and minuses, so when her husband decides teaching is half-way between a D plus and a C minus, Andy Keller suggests they do something else, something easy, like managing apartments. They settle in to what they expect to be a stress-free life of cleaning, painting walls, changing light bulbs, sweeping up trash, and trying to find and keep good tenants. The Keller’s stress level rises when Andy finds a dead stranger in Apartment 38, somebody who hasn’t filled out an application or paid his deposit. Evicting the dead man is fairly easy; it’s what happens after he’s gone that makes managing these apartments a D minus job at best.
