About
We Share our World is for: Kids and their families. This includes honoring parents and grandparents whose native language is Spanish. Some may not be entirely comfortable with their own English but can encourage literacy by reading in Spanish. The book also honors parents everywhere who want their children to have the gift of growing up bilingual. It can be read in English, Spanish or both. School people. Penny will provide ongoing assistance to teachers and librarians on her website, bananalunabooks.com. There will be activities for using this book to teach reading, writing, social studies, art, and science. Other adults. This book is for grownups too. Those who, like Penny, still love picture books. Those who will appreciate the richness of the art from artists in both Oregon and Costa Rica. Those who are moved by inspiring quotes. And those who know, just as children do, that we need to preserve our natural world and to be more caring with one another.
