Pro Ana Social Club is a short story written by Eugenio Cardi. It is based on the phenomenon of anorexia on the web, that is, by that immediate, cutting, almost compulsive dialogue that takes place on the internet amongst anorexic girls who don’t want to be cured of this terrible pathology or to recover from it. ANA is the only reference point for these teenagers. She is such a mythological idol, worshipped as a real Goddess, specifically invented by them. They continuously strive and aspire to be like her in every way (especially when they are upset), they ask her to give them the strength to carry on fasting and pursuing their unwise and deadly choice. Therefore, Pro Ana Social Club presents the typical conversations between two teenagers who both worship ANA, their Goddess.
