About
Designer and architectural historian Pablo de la Riestra (b. Argentina 1953, lives and works in Germany) is a tireless traveler who is in love with Brazilian historical cities, and is focused on the architectural heritage of Brazil. The illustrated catalogue comprises 31 color drawings of isolated buildings and panoramic drawings of entire blocks, apart from brief texts that link the characteristics of the architecture of the historic district in the city of Paraty (Rio de Janeiro). The formal architectonic drawings of De la Riestra draw attention to aspects of the houses often unobserved, highlighting the architectural and decorative details characteristic of the Brazilian baroque that flourished in the city between the 16th and 19th centuries.
