About
STUD BOURNE peeks into a few elements that may have groomed some STUDZ. It describes what it is like to live in a community that, at times, views them through the narrow lenses of fear; religion, and a black feminist microscope. We are a part of a Black lesbian culture that sometimes does not understand us, ridicules us, sterotypes us, and alienates us. However, many of us manage to hold on to our blackness, our spirituality, and to the ones we love. I have learned that when in battle one can maintain a sense of identity without destroying the armor that sheilds them, and without taking on too many blows. STUD BOURNE is the voice of one soldier who dares to speak out during the midst of a cultural gender war. Volume One is the first of a twelve-volume collection revealing the true life of Studly Dudly, with Volume Two to be released in late summer of 2008. Finally, I have found the words and have written them as honestly, and as passionately as the heart would allow.
