Jose Lezama Lima: El maestro en broma

After discussing the challenge that Jose Lezama Lima's work presents for contemporary literary theories, I examine in my dissertation how the paradoxical and baroque writing of Lezama Lima (La Havana 1910-1976) still requires an interpretation to decipher and locate the controversial transcendentalism, the premodern conception, and the peculiar mysticism that grounds his, so called, poetic system.
