About
The book, reissued with the collaboration of writer Felipe Gruneisen, rescues the illustrations made by autodidact artist Enrique José Rapela (Mercedes, Buenos Aires 1911-1978) who documented with texts and drawings the horsemanship skills; the habits and customs; the music and traditions of the Argentinean gaucho universe. Rapela was one of the pioneers of the gaucho cartoon; with memorable characters such as Cirilo el Audaz; Cirilo el Argentino; El Huinca and Fabián Leyes. The original texts and drawings of "Conozcamos lo nuestro" (The Gaucho's Heritage) originally appeared in three fascicles in the 1977 (Buenos Aires : Cielosur Editora) and were sold in magazine stands.
