About
Concrete columns are elements that are critical to the performance of reinforced concrete structures but may be susceptible to damage by the effects of blast loading. Fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) sheets externally bonded to the concrete surfaces provide an efficient method of strengthening these columns. This project investigated, experimentally and analytically, the behaviour of FRP strengthened columns subjected to blast loading. The FRP products used for this investigation were steel reinforced polymer (SRP) sheets, and carbon FRP (CFRP) sheets.
