About
Never published before work of artist Sixto Aurelio Salas (Tucumán 1924 - 1993), mostly from private collections. He served as illustrator of the literary page of the newspaper La Gaceta for nearly four decades and is the only plastic artist from Tucuman among his contemporaries, to had received the Grand Prize of Honor Presidency of the Nation in 1991. His important visual production that begins in 1945 and concludes in 1992, the year of his death, allows us to take a review his work as a painter, engraver, illustrator and, especially, his career as one of the most outstanding Argentine cartoonists, deserving in 1991 of the highest distinction to a visual artist: the Grand Prize of Honor Presidency of the Argentine Nation awarded in the XXVII Salón Nacional de Dibujo y Grabado.
