Claire Kowalski is frustrated, fed up with a loveless life, at a job she hates. An ill-fated carjacking soon changes all this when she finds herself roomed in a hospital with Michael, a mysterious coma victim. Michael is identical to the man she visits in her dreams among dandelions and a strange crystalline structure that keeps her caged in her own fears. She accidentally "taps" into Michael's mind, letting in a force that tortures her and makes the true Michael go mad. Thus begins Claire's task, placed upon her by the grieving spirit of Michael's deceased fiancA(c)e, Tierney, who begs Claire to revisit his mental "realm" and undo what went wrong. Also wandering through this beautiful and treacherous realm is Drake, a tuxedo-clad gentleman who guards Claire against Michael's "monster" and a selfish physician who attempts to abuse her "gift." With Drake, Claire confronts her fears, and frees Michael from the madness within him. Yet there remains a frightening choice, one of returning to her lovelorn life or, perhaps, entering an electronic eternity with someone who loves her unconditionally.
