Hal Rubins a Jewish businessman directs his Empire from the nightclub that he inherited along with the fortune from his estranged second wife who was found strangled. Detective Inspector James Campbell struggles with pinning any crime down to Hal especially when his colleague D C Rebecca White is tortured and murdered.
