You'd be angry, too, if you grew up poor in the Harlem of the 1960s and '70s with a dad permanently checked out and a mom at the end of her rope. Ke-Ke Quinones was whip-smart and sassy, a voracious reader of everything. And with every hard-knock lesson learned, she grew fiercer to get through it all. Now, decades later, comatose after a medical crisis, Ke-Ke reflects on her life while surrounded by her splintered family in all their sound and fury.
