Ecos del tiempo

"A quick tour throughout the Casa del Alabado Museum is enough to ponder the degree of complexity and aesthetic sophistication reached by the primary cultures of Ecuador. That's why it makes sense to propose a consideration of the influence of these on local modern art, projecting their symbolic imprint until present times. To metaphorically reinforce this diaologue that surpasses centuries, the exhibit offers a museographic display that contrasts a representative set of Ancestralistic artworks, mainly from the 1960s, with a selection of distinct archeological objects chosen the museum's reserve collection. The intention is to establish links that can be either poetic or expressive, whether thorugh suggestions emanating from the motifs represented on them or as echoes of their formal characteristics."--Back cover.
