One Thousand Porches

Dr. Edward Livingston Trudeau finds a hopeful cure to the ravages of tuberculosis in the Adirondack Mountains of New York. His patients include a woman who has already lost two children and is determined not to lose a third, a factory worker and mother who must choose to leave her family behind to pursue the cure, a circus performer wishing to spend his final days in hiding and a small child who has been caring for her family of seven, all afflicted with the disease.
